Among your base salary, uncapped commissions, and bonus opportunities , you can expect average first-year earnings ranging between $60,000 and $65,000 . As an Insurance Agent, you must be of the energetic and driven hunter type with a strong track record of success and the inner motivation that compels you to always reach toward that next step in your career. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal and presentation skills. An engaging personality, needed to establish rapport and gain credibility with a wide range of different types of existing and potential clients, will be essential.
Specific qualifications for the role include:
Bachelor''s degree or equivalent
Experience in sales or client facing environment preferred
Solid cold calling and prospecting skills
Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
Ability to thrive in an autonomous yet fast-paced and team environment
Tenacious nature and the ability to easily handle rejection
Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills
Strong analytical skills to understand complex coverage details and underwriting guidelines
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain current state insurance licenses in property, casualty, and life
