CLINICAL NURSE EDUCATOR

Summary:
The Clinical Educator is the teacher, clinical resource, practitioner, and consultant and change agent for the clinical areas.
Working with the employee and management of the clinical area, the Clinical Educator is responsible for the assessment, planning, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of employee educational needs.
Serves as a role model for all levels of employees.
Provides direct employee education, formulates teaching plans for employees intervenes clinically as appropriate, and participates in the area's Quality Improvement plan.
Supports and participates in identification and application of appropriate clinical research, in-service, continuing education, clinical competence, and changes in clinical policies and procedures.
The position will divide time spent in the clinical areas and time spent in the classroom.
REQUIRED FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES AND DEFINING BEHAVIORS Adheres to the Philosophy and Objectives of Patient Care Services including IMG while assisting in the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating patient care services.
Ability to identify clinical, legal, ethical and moral issues in practice, and direct employees appropriately.
Ability to identify and communicate variables affecting the quality of patient care provided by clinical employees, and design and provide educational programs to improve quality of care.
Serves as a role model in utilizing the clinical process in documentation of patient care.
Capable of improving the quality of patient care in clinical areas.
Demonstrated understanding and utilization of area-specific criteria for monitoring quality of patient care and assists employees in developing and implementing plans of care.
Ability to identify and implement specific objectives designed to support PI (performance improvement) activities.
Participates in the evaluation of clinical employees and evaluates patient care provided under the care delivery model.
Serves as a clinical resource for employees and physicians in the management of complex patient care needs.
Evaluates appropriateness:
Participates in orientation of students.
Serves as a resource to students.
Assists in the development of the plan for the Learning and Leadership Center of Excellence.
Collaborates with local education leadership, providing insight in the development of clinical area objectives and budgets, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Assists in updating and implementing policies and procedures relating to patient care.
Ability to maintain and organize complete monthly records and reports as appropriate to the area(s) of responsibility.
Cooperates with other members of the Department in program planning and use of resources through:
participation in program planning, employee meetings, sharing of resources; offers of help and shared knowledge.
Demonstrates the ability to teach.
Consults with management.
Acts as educational/clinical expert resource collaborates with managers ensuring department educational needs are met.
Provides input to managers on employee classroom and clinical performance and assists with the development and implementation of plans to resolve issues.
Assists with problem solving and counseling, as needed.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and present educational programs to support employees in meeting their orientation, in-service, and continuing education needs (to achieve and maintain optimal patient care).
Conducts needs assessments at least annually; plans programming based on learner, management, organizational and community needs.
Uses principles of adult education in program planning:
Objectives, content and evaluation method identified.
Content and presentation appropriate to target population.
Assists employees in meeting own learning needs through self-learning projects, as requested.
Coordinates programs:
Schedules equipment, materials dates.
Maintains course records and submits to Education office in an appropriate and timely manner.
Conducts and summarizes evaluations to determine program and instructor effectiveness, additional learning needs, and future programming changes and needs.
Acts as resource and role model to nurses, physicians, preceptors, managers, and unlicensed employees, as appropriate.
Assists in the development of employees as resource persons, to meet identified employee learning needs.
Implements programs designed to meet learning needs of new employees.
Maintains own clinical competency by completing all required employee educational requirements.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
